CTA Update on Fort Erie/Peace Bridge Closure Due to Extreme Weather

The Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) is reporting that all commercial operations in Southern Ontario, including at Fort Erie are now open. However, the agency is aware that some U.S. roads and highways near Buffalo remain closed due to the emergency caused by extreme weather over the last few days.

Due to these circumstances, CBSA has advised both the Fort Erie and Queenston ports of entry to expect diverted loads between the two ports and to forego any penalties until December 30 at 00:01hrs.

Carriers should continue to work with their customs brokers to amend and submit their customs entries to the agency where practical.
