CTA’s Political Action Toolkit
Your voice matters. As a carrier or industry member, your participation in the political process helps shape a stronger future for trucking in Canada. The CTA is here to empower you to drive meaningful change. Our Political Action Toolkit equips you with the knowledge and tools to take action.
There are three levels of engagement in the political process. By understanding these levels, you can identify the most effective ways to advocate for the issues that matter most to you.
Local Issues
Support local road and highway projects that improve infrastructure for trucking operations. Address concerns specific to your business, such as immigration issues with your drivers, by contacting your local MP.
Specific Issues
Join the CTA’s efforts to advocate for specific policies and legislation by participating in email campaigns, contacting your representatives, and making submissions to government consultations.
Raise General Awareness
Increase awareness among politicians about the trucking industry’s vital role in the Canadian economy. Share your expertise and experiences to educate decision-makers about the challenges and opportunities facing the industry.
As a carrier or industry member, your participation in the political process can make a real difference. While there are various ways to get involved, the most impactful is often the simplest: communicating with your local MP.
By building relationships with your elected representatives, you can raise awareness about the trucking industry, share your expertise, and advocate for policies that support a strong and sustainable sector.
