CTA, Canada Post Looking at Best Practices and Enhanced Vetting in Supply Chains

Following Canada Post’s recent appearance before the Standing Committee on Transport, Infrastructure and Communities on the topic of Driver Inc, follow-up discussions have taken place regarding road safety, fair labour practices, and supply chain accountability within the transportation sector.

As a result of these discussions, CTA has proposed a meeting in the coming weeks to explore next steps and discuss how enhanced carrier vetting practices can be strengthened and implemented. The conversation would focus on identifying best practices, leveraging credible compliance data, and ensuring that supply chain participants have the tools and processes needed to make informed and responsible business decisions.

“Strong carrier vetting processes help ensure that transportation providers operate safely, comply with labour and tax laws, and contribute to a fair and competitive marketplace. By working together and sharing best practices, we can help strengthen supply chain integrity across the industry,” said Jonathan Blackham, CTA Director of Policy and Public Affairs.

CTA welcomes the opportunity to work collaboratively with Canada Post, who shares our commitment to promoting safer roads, fair competition, and ethical business practices throughout the transportation industry.
