The Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) continues to process delayed commercial messages due to a system update and IT system issues which began on April 19, 2026.
The agency recognizes the challenges that carriers and trade chain partners have experienced in submitting commercial information since this time, and retroactive from April 19, 2026, and until further notice, a grace period will be implemented for the issuance of Administrative Monetary Penalties (AMPS) for contraventions associated with the electronic transmission of data using the affected systems during this period.
