Trucking HR Canada announced today the speaker lineup for the 6th annual Women with Drive Leadership Summit taking place on March 12, 2019 at the Delta Hotels by Marriott Toronto Airport & Conference Centre.
This year’s theme, Driving Innovation, will focus on the innovative people, programs, practices and technologies that are changing the industry and the way we work.
The speakers and panelists include:
• Opening Speaker – The Honourable Lisa Raitt – Former Deputy Leader of the Official Opposition and the Conservative Party of Canada
The Honourable Lisa Raitt served in the House of Commons representing Milton Ontario from 2008 to 2019. Most recently she served as the Deputy Leader of the Official Opposition and the Conservative Party of Canada. While in Government, Ms. Raitt served as Canada’s Minister of Natural Resources, Minister of Labour and Minister of Transport and as part of the Official Opposition served as Finance Critic and Justice Critic.
• Closing Speaker – Lisa Kelly, Professional Driver
Lisa Kelly, originally from Grand Rapids, Michigan, is an American trucker who has been featured as one of the only women on the History channel reality television series Ice Road Truckers and its spinoff series IRT: Deadliest Roads. This opened a variety of doors for Kelly including filming on some of the deadliest roads in India, Bolivia and Peru.
• Keynote Speaker – Alfredo Tan, Chief Digital & Innovation Officer for WestJet Airlines
Alfredo C. Tan is the first Chief Digital & Innovation Officer for WestJet Airlines. He is a former Facebook and Instagram Executive in Canada, where he was a founding team member and helped build the brand globally. His 20-year career has been focused on technology, digital media, enterprise marketing, and strategy. At WestJet Airlines, Alfredo C. Tan is responsible for building a culture of innovation—and, while he’s at it, transforming the customer experience across all digital channels and touch points.
• Panelist – Magali Lacerte – Director of Process Engineering, Bison Transport
Magali Lacerte joined Bison Transport in July 2019 as the Director of Process Engineering after spending 20 years in the courier industry. Magali has been involved in several operational projects including optimization, automation and facility capacity through her career. In her current role at Bison, she works closely with operations to provide innovative improvements through process analysis.
• Panelist- Megan Manser – Employee Services Manager, UPS Canada
Megan Manser began her career with UPS in 2007 as an HR Specialist and quickly moved into the full-time position of HR Supervisor for West Ontario and then to Talent and Employee Relations Manager where she is responsible for implementing the overall succession management, talent planning strategy, and the design and implementation of high-impact talent management tools and processes related to the identification, assessment, development, promotion, and retention of internal talent.
• Panelist – Ninon Laforce, Head of Product, ISAAC Instruments
Ninon Laforce is Head of Product at ISAAC Instruments. She leads the team responsible for the product management process from the beginning, including generating and gathering ideas, all the way to the execution of new features and advancement of the platform. Ninon’s passion for technology and working collaboratively with both clients and R&D teams allow her to bring forward new solutions.
• Panelist – Eveline Gaede, IT Director, Challenger Motor Freight Inc.
Eveline Gaede has been involved in the technology industry for well over 30 years. After several years as a contract developer to Challenger Motor Freight, she joined the company in 1993 as IT Manager. Currently, holding to top IT role at Challenger Motor Freight, she is responsible for the day-to-day operations of all things that are IT and Telecommunications. Additionally, she is actively involved in analyzing, recommending and implementing new technologies for the company.
• Moderator – Karen Campbell Jones, Marketing Director, TransCore Link Logistics
Pragmatic and tenacious, Karen has built the functionality of marketing from the ground up within TransCore Link Logistics. Over the past seven years, Karen has transitioned from being the sole marketer at the organization, to leader of a growing team across multiple marketing disciplines.
