(Feb. 22, 2017) — The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) will be introducing new rules under the Food Safety Modernization Act (FSMA) for Sanitary Transportation of Human and Animal Food (STF) beginning in April 2017. The objective of the rule is to ensure food is being properly refrigerated, vehicles and equipment are properly cleaned/sanitized, and food is properly protected during transport.
The rule establishes requirements for shippers, carriers by truck or rail, loaders and receivers involved in transporting human and animal food.
The webinar will include the following:

- Who is covered and not covered under the new rules
- Role of the transporter under the new requirements
- Training and record keeping requirements for transportation
The webinar will take place on Wednesday March 22nd from 1:30 pm to 2:30 pm (EST). Carriers involved in the transportation of food products are encouraged to participate in the session.
