Applications are now being accepted for the 2nd-annual Top Fleet Employers program at TruckingHR.com

Applications are now being accepted at www.truckingHR.com for the 2nd-annual Top Fleet Employers program, which recognizing fleets with the best workplaces in Canada’s trucking industry.

Online submissions are due by Feb. 27, with hard copy submissions due March 27.  Fleets which have previously applied will benefit from a streamlined hard copy submission process.

The program offered through Trucking HR Canada rates fleets on topics including employee recognition, compensation, lifestyle, employee engagement, wellness, professional development, recruitment and retention. The review process includes a comprehensive online application, followed up with a hard-copy submission, employee surveys and follow-up interviews

“Top Fleet Employers recognizes fleets that are committed to, and demonstrate, best practices in human resources,” says Angela Splinter, CEO of Trucking HR Canada. “They are workplaces which lead by example, and play a key role in helping the trucking industry recruit and retain the employees it needs to ensure a successful future.”

The program’s selection criteria reflects Canadian human resources issues, trends and working environments, and have been validated by a panel of trucking industry experts and a Certified Human Resource Professional (CHRP). They also echo Trucking HR Canada’s standards of excellence, and consider every fleet occupation.

Recognized employers in the 2014 program included: Bison Transport, Erb Group of Companies, Home Hardware, J&R Hall Transport Inc., Kindersley Transport, Kriska Transportation, Logikor Inc., MacKinnon Transport Inc., SLH Transport, and Transport Freight Systems Ltd.

Top Fleet Employers recognizes any fleets which meet standards of excellence in Human Resources. It is not a competition. There is no limit to the number or size of fleets which can be honoured.

Fleets can identify the information needed for an application by clicking here. The criteria applied to for-hire fleets is firmly rooted in the core values of Canadian Trucking Alliance’s Blue Ribbon Task Force on the Driver Shortage, while those applied to private fleets reflect environments and requirements unique to their operations.
