Call for Participation: CBP Seeks Carriers for ACE Electronic Export Manifest Test

U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP), through its Cargo and Conveyance Security Directorate, is inviting local and regional trucking carriers to participate in a voluntary test of the Automated Commercial Environment (ACE) Electronic Export Manifest (EEM) for Truck Cargo.

CBP is encouraging participation from carriers of all sizes, with particular interest in small and medium-sized trucking companies. Carrier feedback will help CBP evaluate future electronic export manifest requirements and improve cargo security, risk assessment, and export operations.

Participation Requirements

Participants must be able to electronically submit data to CBP through ACE. There are no restrictions based on company size, location, or commodity type.

Amongst other details, carriers will be required to submit:

  • Initial manifest data: At least 24 hours before departure.
  • Complete manifest data: No later than two hours before arrival at the final port of export.

Potential benefits include:

  • Reduced examinations and associated costs.
  • Fewer border delays.
  • Improved cargo security and compliance.
  • Early experience with electronic export manifest requirements.
