Avian Flu Outbreak and the Transport of Poultry and Processed Foods in AB and ON Wednesday April 13, 2022 | Border & Customs, Operations & Safety Due to the recent outbreak of the highly pathogenic avian influenza (HPAI), identified in Alberta and Ontario, the Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) has established Primary Control Zones (PCZ) to prevent the spread of HPAI. Additional zones will be created in these provinces as required.
