The Alliance strongly supports these federal initiatives designed to modernize national freight networks and safeguard essential transportation workers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cTrucking is the lifeblood of the Canadian economy,\u201d says CTA President &amp; CEO Stephen Laskowski. \u201cThe measures introduced by the federal government demonstrate a clear commitment to fortifying national trade corridors, eliminating unnecessary administrative friction at our borders, and ensuring our essential commercial drivers operate in a fair, safe, and modern environment.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Key developments applauded by the CTA include:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Fast-Tracking Vital Infrastructure &amp; Trade Corridors:<\/strong>\u00a0Streamlining federal approval timelines for national transportation projects will help clear persistent highway bottlenecks, modernize border crossings, and improve intermodal freight connections, directly reducing shipping delays and lowering fleet emissions.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Modernizing Cross-Border Freight via Digitalization:<\/strong>\u00a0Moving toward paperless customs clearance and fully electronic shipping documentation will eliminate gate queues at major terminals, reduce administrative burdens for carriers, and accelerate cross-border delivery times.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Preventing Supply Chain Disruptions:<\/strong>\u00a0Enhancing structured dispute-resolution mechanisms for federally regulated transport sectors provides much-needed stability, preventing sudden supply chain paralysis that disrupts truck drivers and Canadian consumers alike.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Safeguarding Fair Workplaces:<\/strong>\u00a0Expanded enforcement capacity to combat permanent immediate expensing answered through the new\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/cantruck.ca\/federal-productivity-mega-deduction-delivers-on-key-cta-call-for-permanent-immediate-expensing\/\">Productivity Mega Deduction<\/a>.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p
