The Canadian Trucking Alliance (CTA) was pleased to be on hand for the announcement and extends its gratitude to the Minister and the Government of Canada for launching this important initiative. This represents the third industry alliance to be officially launched as part of the Government of Canada\u2019s broader efforts to bring together partners to address workforce challenges in sectors that are critical to Canada\u2019s economic growth..<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The transportation and warehousing sector contributed $96.5 billion directly to Canada\u2019s gross domestic product in 2024 and supports nearly one million jobs nationwide. As employers continue to face persistent labour shortages, technological change and growing demand for workers, a coordinated national workforce strategy will be essential to recruiting and supporting the people needed to sustain the sector\u2019s future growth.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Led by Trucking HR Canada, in partnership with CIFFA \u2013 Canada\u2019s Association of Logistics Providers, the new Transportation and Supply Chain Workforce Alliance &#8211; will bring together trucking, air, rail and marine mode stakeholders to help advance initiatives to advance skills development, attract new talent, respond to emerging technologies and strengthen collaboration across the sector.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Transportation and Supply Chain Workforce Alliance follows the launch of the Mining and Minerals Workforce Alliance and the Advanced Manufacturing Workforce Alliance.
