{"id":9583,"date":"2026-07-30T19:03:23","date_gmt":"2026-07-30T19:03:23","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/cantruck.ca\/?p=9583"},"modified":"2026-07-30T19:03:25","modified_gmt":"2026-07-30T19:03:25","slug":"cbsa-announces-end-of-commercial-driver-registration-program","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/cantruck.ca\/fr\/cbsa-announces-end-of-commercial-driver-registration-program\/","title":{"rendered":"CBSA Announces End of Commercial Driver Registration Program"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) announced it will end the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.cbsa-asfc.gc.ca\/prog\/cdrp-picsc\/menu-eng.html\">Commercial Driver Registration Program<\/a>\u00a0(CDRP) effective\u00a0September 1, 2026<strong>.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">According to the CBSA, the decision was made following a review of the program, which found that CDRP had low participation and duplicated the benefits offered through the&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.cbsa-asfc.gc.ca\/prog\/fast-expres\/menu-eng.html\">Free and Secure Trade<\/a>&nbsp;(FAST)&nbsp;program.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">What members need to know:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>The\u00a0CDRP will officially end on September 1, 2026.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Applications received on or before\u00a0September 1, 2026, will continue to be processed.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Existing CDRP membership cards will remain valid until their expiry date.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Commercial drivers who wish to continue accessing Trusted Trader benefits are encouraged to apply for the\u00a0FASTtr\u00a0program.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The CBSA has indicated that it is working with the trucking industry, including the Canadian Trucking Alliance (CTA), commercial carriers and other stakeholders to support a smooth transition and ensure affected drivers receive the information they need.<br><br>Members with drivers currently enrolled in CDRP should review their Trusted Trader participation and consider transitioning eligible drivers to the FAST program to maintain access to expedited border processing.<br><br>Members can visit the CBSA website for more information on the announcement available in both&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.canada.ca\/en\/border-services-agency\/news\/2026\/07\/cbsa-to-end-commercial-driver-registration-program-due-to-low-uptake.html\">English<\/a>&nbsp;and&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.canada.ca\/fr\/agence-services-frontaliers\/nouvelles\/2026\/07\/lasfc-mettra-fin-au-programme-dinscription-des-chauffeurs-du-secteur-commercial-en-raison-dun-faible-taux-dadhesion.html\">French<\/a>.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) announced it will end the\u00a0Commercial Driver Registration Program\u00a0(CDRP) effective\u00a0September 1, 2026.
