CTA had the honour of attending the opening reception of the Western Premiers Conference 2026 this week. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
CTA is grateful to be invited by Alberta Premier Danielle Smith, who hosted this year\u2019s conference. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
The reception provided CTA an opportunity to discuss key trucking issues with several premiers, including truck safety, infrastructure, insurance, training, the removal of inter-provincial trade barriers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Through the Council of the Federation, Canada\u2019s Premiers have continued to support the trucking industry and have been a critical voice in directing positive change in partnership with the Council of Ministers and Deputy Ministers Responsible for Transportation and Highway Safety.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cThe opportunity to have these discussions with the premiers on key issues facing our industry was invaluable,\u201d said CTA Sr VP, Policy, Geoff Wood, who represented CTA at the event. \u201cTheir commitment to supporting the trucking industry, their level of engagement and understanding our issues was crystal clear and aligned with CTA\u2019s policy direction.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Alberta Motor Transport Association (AMTA) Chair Tim Bennett and AMTA President Robert Harper were also in attendance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
