CBP is actively working to prevent and mitigate these impacts, often connecting with trade partners to resolve disruptions caused by cyberattacks. Ensuring CBP has the correct contact information for a rapid response is critical.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>CBP are urging all trade members to add a Technical Point of Contact (POC) designated for Cybersecurity to their ACE portal account for CBP to contact if a legitimate cybersecurity threat is identified. This benefits both your business and CBP by:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Reducing doubt about the legitimacy of both the cyberattack and the notification from a CBP official.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Providing CBP the correct person to contact for technical and cybersecurity related information.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Expediting collaborative efforts to intercept and\/or mitigate the impacts of an identified threat.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Note: If multiple account types exist for a company (e.g., broker, carrier, importer), add the Cybersecurity POC to the top account.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>To add a Cybersecurity POC, ACE account users must begin by completing the steps required to add a general POC as described in the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/links-1.govdelivery.com\/CL0\/https:%2F%2Fwww.cbp.gov%2Fsites%2Fdefault%2Ffiles%2Fassets%2Fdocuments%2F2024-Apr%2FModernized%2520ACE%2520Portal%2520-%2520Account%2520Types%2520%25281%2529-508C.pdf\/1\/01000195436577ac-c0aa3394-3f4a-42e2-8d93-cbd0ff76cc6d-000000\/LWKpUJp1QSQmg291lpUPC0n2Qske0njjhsA6nI5gKiQ=394\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">Modernized ACE Portal User Guide<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Information on adding a POC to an ACE account is available beginning on page 42.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Select \u201cTechnical Point of Contact\u201d in the \u201cType\u201d drop down menu field.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Include \u201cCybersecurity\u201d in parentheses after the contact\u2019s last name.
