Environment and Climate Change Canada (ECCC) recently announced that the Interim Order in place to modify heavy-duty vehicle greenhouse gas (GHG) regulations for trailers have once again been suspended in Canada for up to an additional year.<\/p>\n

It is expected that the Interim Order will be published in the\u00a0Canada Gazette<\/em>, Part I, on March 16, 2024, and will then be available, along with the explanatory note, on the\u00a0Canada Gazette\u00a0website<\/a><\/em>.<\/p>\n

It was also noted that the Interim Order does not affect any provisions related to the heavy-duty vehicle and engine standards of the Regulations.<\/p>\n

The Canadian Trucking Alliance (CTA), continues to work with the federal government to ensure an understanding of the\u00a0realities around decarbonization<\/a>\u00a0in the heavy-truck sector, as new draft GHG emissions regulations are expected later this year.<\/p>\n

CTA will also be releasing its\u00a0decarbonization white paper<\/a>\u00a0which is being finalized in partnership with the environmental non-for-profit, Pollution Probe, which will help capture these current realities based on feedback from across the country, to be released in the coming months.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
