Announces Further Suspension of GHG Trailer Regs"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Environment and Climate Change Canada (ECCC) recently announced that the Interim Order in place to modify heavy-duty vehicle greenhouse gas (GHG) regulations for trailers have once again been suspended in Canada for up to an additional year.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It is expected that the Interim Order will be published in the\u00a0<em>Canada Gazette<\/em>, Part I, on March 16, 2024, and will then be available, along with the explanatory note, on the\u00a0<em><a href=\"https:\/\/www.gazette.gc.ca\/accueil-home-eng.html\">Canada Gazette\u00a0website<\/a><\/em>.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It was also noted that the Interim Order does not affect any provisions related to the heavy-duty vehicle and engine standards of the Regulations.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The Canadian Trucking Alliance (CTA), continues to work with the federal government to ensure an understanding of the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/cantruck.ca\/feds-and-trucking-sector-must-work-closely-to-monitor-realities-of-decarbonization-set-achievable-truck-emission-policies-and-targets\/\">realities around decarbonization<\/a>\u00a0in the heavy-truck sector, as new draft GHG emissions regulations are expected later this year.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">CTA will also be releasing its\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/cantruck.ca\/cta-white-paper-to-discuss-decarbonization-realities-and-journey-towards-a-zero-emission-future-for-heavy-trucks\/\">decarbonization white paper<\/a>\u00a0which is being finalized in partnership with the environmental non-for-profit, Pollution Probe, which will help capture these current realities based on feedback from across the country, to be released in the coming
