This year\u2019s theme\u00a0Driving a Decade of Change<\/em>\u00a0celebrated the profound impact of Women with Drive and the progress of trucking and logistics employers in supporting women\u2019s professional goals.<\/p>\n \u201cWomen with Drive is the premiere event of its kind in our industry \u2014 with unmatched access to resources to help\u00a0increase the representation and participation of women in the trucking and logistics sector,\u201d says Angela Splinter, CEO of Trucking HR Canada. \u201cThis year\u2019s Summit exceeded all our expectations. The stellar line-up of government leaders, industry, technology, and leadership experts inspired, educated, and engaged all attendees and will have a profound impact on their work as they move into the future.\u201d<\/p>\n Among the highlights was a special address by the\u00a0Honourable Anita Anand<\/em><\/strong>, President of the Treasury Board of Canada, who talked about labour market issues and the importance of government investment in industry. The minister then participated in a fireside chat session moderated by Splinter.<\/p>\n Other notable speakers included\u00a0David Irvine<\/em><\/strong>, trusted leadership advisor and best-selling author;\u00a0Sean Stephens,\u00a0<\/em><\/strong>CEO of Treefrog Inc.; and\u00a0Shirley Best<\/em><\/strong>, Transportation Empowerment Advocate.<\/p>\n The day also included a\u00a010 Years – 10 Perspective Panel<\/strong>\u00a0showcasing experts from across the country with unique perspectives on women in trucking, and Learning Highway sessions featuring specialized industry information and resources.<\/p>\n Trucking HR Canada used the occasion of the Summit to formally release its 2024-2030 labour market outlook report,\u00a0Driving Progress \u2013 The New Road Ahead<\/em><\/strong>.\u00a0The proprietary\u00a0labour market information in the report informs Trucking HR Canada programs that help meet the industry\u2019s HR challenges by providing relevant, accurate, timely, and actionable data.<\/p>\n Trucking HR Canada highlighted special achievements at the Summit, awarding the second Women with Drive Leadership Award to Angelique Magi of Element Fleet Management. The award was inspired by the many trailblazing women working to keep the Canadian supply chain moving, and acknowledges their commitment inclusion, and dedication to supporting their peers and nurturing the next generation of our workforce.<\/p>\n
