{"id":3463,"date":"2022-11-15T19:27:37","date_gmt":"2022-11-15T19:27:37","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/cantruck.ca\/cvsa-human-trafficking-awareness-in-canada-next-feb\/"},"modified":"2025-01-10T16:42:59","modified_gmt":"2025-01-10T16:42:59","slug":"cvsa-human-trafficking-awareness-in-canada-next-feb","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/cantruck.ca\/fr\/cvsa-human-trafficking-awareness-in-canada-next-feb\/","title":{"rendered":"CVSA Human Trafficking Awareness in Canada Next Feb"},"content":{"rendered":"<div>\n<p>The Commercial Vehicle Safety Alliance\u2019s (CVSA) Human Trafficking Awareness Initiative (HTAI) will be held in Canada between Feb. 20-24.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p>HTAI launched in early 2022 as an awareness and outreach effort to educate commercial motor vehicle drivers, motor carriers, law enforcement officers, and the general public about the crime of human trafficking, the signs to look for, and what to do if you suspect someone is being trafficked.<span class=\"apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p>During the five-day awareness initiative in each country, CVSA jurisdictions will note human trafficking awareness and outreach efforts and projects, and submit that data to the alliance. The results will be released in summer 2023.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p>In preparation, CVSA is offering human trafficking awareness\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.cvsa.org\/programs\/human-trafficking-prevention\/resources\/\">resources<\/a>\u00a0to its membership and working with the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/truckersagainsttrafficking.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Truckers Against Trafficking<\/a>\u00a0 to\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.cvsa.org\/programs\/human-trafficking-prevention\/order-tat-outreach-materials\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">distribute<\/a>\u00a0wallet cards and window decals.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p>Last year, the initiative saw 2,460 law enforcement personnel distribute 13,274 wallet cards to help people identify signs of the crime, hand out 6,355 window decals, and deliver 1,818 presentations.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p>The initiative is also scheduled for Jan. 9-13 in the U.S. and March 13-17 in Mexico.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Commercial Vehicle Safety Alliance\u2019s (CVSA) Human Trafficking Awareness Initiative (HTAI) will be held in Canada between Feb. 20-24.
