{"id":3280,"date":"2021-12-23T15:05:38","date_gmt":"2021-12-23T15:05:38","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/cantruck.ca\/truckers-canadian-tire-make-special-christmas-delivery-for-kids-in-bc\/"},"modified":"2025-01-10T16:43:40","modified_gmt":"2025-01-10T16:43:40","slug":"truckers-canadian-tire-make-special-christmas-delivery-for-kids-in-bc","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/cantruck.ca\/fr\/truckers-canadian-tire-make-special-christmas-delivery-for-kids-in-bc\/","title":{"rendered":"Truckers, Canadian Tire Make Special Christmas Delivery for Kids in BC"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Canadian Trucking Alliance, Canadian Tire and Trucks for Change gave Santa a helping hand just before his busy weekend by delivering a truckload of gifts for children and teens whose holidays have been adversely affected by the devastating floods and washouts in B.C.<\/p>\n<p>The Canadian Trucking Alliance, the BC Trucking Association, as well as the provincial trucking associations of Ontario and Manitoba stepped up to purchase hundreds of toys, sporting goods,\u00a0games and gift cards for children in need.<\/p>\n<div class=\"ast-oembed-container \" style=\"height: 100%;\"><iframe title=\"Christmas on Wheels\" width=\"500\" height=\"281\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/iUn8SvfZ3j8?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/div>\n<p>Once the funds were donated, Canadian Tire sprang into action, working with CTA and Trucks for Change to organize shipments\u00a0from across Canada and deliver them to B.C. Meanwhile, the BC Trucking Association connected with the Lower Mainland Christmas Bureau to accept the pallets of presents, which were transported and delivered today by a jolly Canadian Tire truck driver.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAs it often does during a crisis, the Canadian trucking industry stepped up once again when Canadians needed it most,\u201d said CTA board member and Trucks for Change chairman, Scott Smith. \u201cIt has been a pleasure to work with Canadian Tire, BCTA and the other provincial associations who got involved in this effort. There\u2019s still a lot of work to be done to get parts of B.C. back on its feet, but hopefully we were able to support a few families and put a smile on some kids\u2019 faces this week.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>About $20,000-worth of toys, board games and sporting equipment will be handed out by the Christmas Bureau to local kids throughout the week and after Christmas.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe share in the Trucking Associations\u2019 passion for helping Canadians in times of need and were pleased to be able to support their efforts to bring a little extra Christmas joy to kids in B.C. this
