The international virtual event brought together women from across industry to celebrate the achievements of women in trucking and logistics, and to recognize global female leadership.<\/p>\n<p>The summit featured its opening keynote by the\u00a0Honorable Micha\u00eblle Jean, and closing from Halla T\u00f3masd\u00f3ttir, CEO of The B Team from Iceland.\u00a0 Moderated by\u00a0Heather Day, President at C.S. Day Transport Ltd., the Panel Discussion:\u00a0WOMEN LEADING THROUGH COVID-19<strong>\u00a0<\/strong>shed light on how<strong>\u00a0<\/strong>the COVID-19 pandemic is impacting work for women everywhere in the industry.<\/p>\n<p>Delegates heard women\u2019s voices from Iceland, Denmark, Sweden, Australia, the United Kingdom, and New Zealand. The panelists included:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Anne Kathrine Steenbjerge, CEO of ANCOTRANS\/Anders Nielsen &amp; Co A\/S from Denmark<strong>,<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>Bibbi Steinert, Trucking Company Owner, from Sweden<\/li>\n<li>Heather Jones, Founder, Managing Director and Head Trainer of Pilbara Heavy Haulage Girls, from Australia<\/li>\n<li>Meryn Morrison, Safety Consultant at Safety Interchange Ltd, from New Zealand<\/li>\n<li>Ruth Waring, Directorof Compliance Acumen Logistics Group and Women in Logistics UK from England.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The\u00a0Honorable Micha\u00eblle Jean set the stage with one of the most inspiring Opening Keynotes we have heard. Jean highlighted the essential role of truck drivers\u00a0\u201cIt makes you change makers &#8211; you can make a lot happen. And this is something I want to praise you for, this important role that you can play.\u201d Said, Jean.\u00a0She provided examples of successful women lead trucking businesses.\u00a0Closing speaker\u00a0Halla T\u00f3masd\u00f3ttir, CEO of The B Team from Iceland carried us to end of the event with an authentic fireside chat with Trucking HR Canada CEO, Angela Splinter. \u201cBusiness as usual is no longer an option \u2013 and we need to move from measuring short-term profit to what matters.\u201d T\u00f3masd\u00f3ttir urged us all to manifest our inner leaders and confront our tendency as women to doubt our abilities and potential. Both keynote speakers\u00a0were equally inspirational.
