To help carriers comply with new Canada Labour Code requirements, Trucking HR Canada today launched an online\u00a0Learning Centre<\/a>, which provides modern workplace harassment and violence training.<\/p>\n

As of January 1, all federally regulated employers have new compliance requirements with respect to workplace harassment and violence training for employees. There are also new requirements relating to the conducting of risk assessments and the development of company policies which carriers will need meet.<\/p>\n

Under these new requirements, carriers will need to train all of their employees, develop workplace harassment and violence prevention policies, will need to assess the risk of workplace harassment and violence, and will also need to be able to respond to any incidents within seven days.<\/p>\n

Trucking HR Canada\u2019s new online training course offers carriers the most industry relevant, comprehensive and applicable suite of training tools available on the market and is the only training of this kind endorsed by the Canadian Trucking Alliance (CTA).<\/p>\n

\u201cOur new learning centre offers engaging, industry leading, cost-effective training that supports regulatory compliance,\u201d says Angela Splinter, CEO of Trucking HR Canada. \u201cWe have consulted and worked with Labour Canada, employment lawyers, labour groups and HR professionals to ensure our HR standards of excellence are met. Our training and supplementary suite of resources are all designed to support compliance and HR best practices for the trucking industry.\u201d<\/p>\n

CTA is strongly encouraging all member carriers to use THRC\u2019s tool kit and training platform to help them comply with the latest federal requirements.<\/p>\n

\u201cWhen it comes to developing HR training modules and tools to help companies in the trucking\u00a0industry draft policies and meet labour requirements, there is no one better in the business,\u201d says OTA\u2019s director of Policy & Public Affairs, Jonathan Blackham.<\/p>\n

\u201cTHRC is a dedicated partner of the OTA and\u00a0CTA\u00a0and they have once again developed excellent resources for our industry\u201d added Blackham.<\/p>\n

Trucking HR Canada offers three modules that will ensure employers understand procedures and obligations; instruct employees how to better recognize, prevent, and respond to workplace harassment and violence; and more specialized training for designated recipients and others charged with responding to workplace incidents.<\/p>\n

The THRC program was developed in partnership with Labour Canada, labour groups, employment lawyers, and HR professionals and is delivered in partnership with the Canadian Trucking Alliance (CTA) and the Provincial Trucking Associations.<\/p>\n
