{"id":2994,"date":"2020-09-30T15:32:15","date_gmt":"2020-09-30T15:32:15","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/cantruck.ca\/four-new-provisions-to-fmcsas-hours-of-service-regulations-now-in-effect\/"},"modified":"2025-01-10T16:44:39","modified_gmt":"2025-01-10T16:44:39","slug":"four-new-provisions-to-fmcsas-hours-of-service-regulations-now-in-effect","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/cantruck.ca\/fr\/four-new-provisions-to-fmcsas-hours-of-service-regulations-now-in-effect\/","title":{"rendered":"Four New Provisions to FMCSA\u2019s Hours of Service Regulations now in Effect"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Canadian Trucking Alliance (CTA) has been asked to forward the following information from the US Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) to its members.<\/p>\n<p>The agency stated:<\/p>\n<p><em>\u00ab\u00a0Please be advised that the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration has enacted its new Hours of Service (HOS) rule effective September 29, 2020.\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>FMCSA revised four provisions of the previous HOS rule to provide greater flexibility for drivers without adversely affecting safety.\u00a0 \u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><em><a href=\"https:\/\/www.fmcsa.dot.gov\/sites\/fmcsa.dot.gov\/files\/2020-05\/FMCSA_HoursOfService_GetToKnowTheNewRule.pdf\">Get to Know the New Rule<\/a>; and <\/em><\/li>\n<li><em><a href=\"https:\/\/www.fmcsa.dot.gov\/sites\/fmcsa.dot.gov\/files\/2020-05\/FMCSA_HoursOfService_OnePage.pdf\">HOS Fact Sheet<\/a>.<\/em><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><em>Additionally, FMCSA has posted revised Frequently Asked Questions (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.fmcsa.dot.gov\/international-programs\/hours-service-requirements-cross-border-drivers\">FAQs<\/a>) to address the <\/em><em>revised four provisions of the HOS rule for cross-border drivers.\u00a0 FMCSA requests that you distribute this information to Canadian-domiciled motor carriers and trucking associations the that operate in United States.\u00a0 We thank you for your valuable support.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n<p>CTA members are encouraged to review the information provided by FMCSA with special attention focused on the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.fmcsa.dot.gov\/international-programs\/hours-service-requirements-cross-border-drivers\">FAQs<\/a>.
