As it does every year, the trucking industry \u2013 and Canadian Trucking Alliance member carriers, in particular \u2013 led the national fight against prostate cancer.<\/p>\n

For the second consecutive year,\u00a0CTA member carrier\u00a0Sutco Transportation Specialists of\u00a0\u00a0Salmo, B.C. was the country\u2019s top workplace fundraiser in Prostate Cancer Canada\u2019s Plaid for Dad campaign \u2013 raising\u00a0$22,152.14\u00a0. Also, mirroring its second place finish from 2019,\u00a0\u00a0Tandet of Oakville, Ont. followed with\u00a0$12,522.00 raised.<\/p>\n

Overall, three more trucking companies\/CTA members\/Trucks for Change carriers rounded out the top 10 of all workplaces in Canada:\u00a0 Steed Standard Transport (6th<\/sup>\u00a0place – $4,870.00); Arnold Bros. Transport Ltd. (7th place – $4,565.00); and Kriska Transportation Group (10th<\/sup>\u00a0– $3,541.00)<\/p>\n

Rosenau Transport\u00a0 (15th<\/sup>),\u00a0Trimac Transportation (31st<\/sup>), Overland Container Transportation Services (34th<\/sup>) were other trucking companies to make the top 50 workplaces.<\/p>\n

\u201cOur major fight against cancer started in 2014 with a pink tractor travelling the highways of Canada and the United States.\u00a0That tractor helped raise close to $70,000 for cancer research and awareness over four years. Our co-founder Bob Sutherland is a survivor of prostate cancer and naturally our industry demographics can greatly benefit from prostate cancer awareness. With a goal to raise over $100,000 over the next four years, we are well on our way,\u201d said Doug Sutherland, president of repeat fundraising champions, Sutco.<\/p>\n

In fact, a trucking industry organization has finished first in the friendly workplace competition every year since Plaid for Dad\u2019s inception \u2013 beginning with the Ontario Trucking Association, then CTA, followed by Arnold Bros and back-to-back top titles by Sutco.<\/p>\n

Since 2016, CTA trucking companies have raised over $270,000 for the Plaid for Dad campaign \u2013 far and above more than any other company or industry.<\/p>\n

CTA continues to work with Trucks for Change on a variety of charitable causes.<\/p>\n
