{"id":2887,"date":"2020-05-01T12:19:50","date_gmt":"2020-05-01T12:19:50","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/cantruck.ca\/fmcsa-expands-crash-preventability-determination-program\/"},"modified":"2025-01-10T16:45:26","modified_gmt":"2025-01-10T16:45:26","slug":"fmcsa-expands-crash-preventability-determination-program","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/cantruck.ca\/fr\/fmcsa-expands-crash-preventability-determination-program\/","title":{"rendered":"FMCSA Expands Crash Preventability Determination Program"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Today,\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.fmcsa.dot.gov\/sites\/fmcsa.dot.gov\/files\/2020-04\/CPDP%20Federal%20Register%20Notice.pdf\" data-ogsc=\"\">FMSCA announced<\/a>\u00a0 they are expanding and making permanent their Crash Preventability Determination program.<\/p>\n<p>Beginning next week, FMCSA will start accepting preventability determination requests on an expanded set of crash scenarios, including a new \u201crare or unusual\u201d category. Crashes determined to be\u00a0<u>not-<\/u>preventable will be noted on the carriers CSA profile, removed from the calculation of the carrier\u2019s Crash Indicator BASIC measure and reflected on the driver\u2019s PSP score.<\/p>\n<p>Carriers and drivers will use the DataQs system to request review of a crashes occurring on or after August 1, 2020 but must submit a copy of the police accident report to be considered. FMCSA has also streamlined the process by eliminating the 30-day public notice period before a review can be finalized. FMCSA has said they will continue to monitor the program and will consider further expansion if it is warranted.
