{"id":2864,"date":"2020-04-15T22:10:32","date_gmt":"2020-04-15T22:10:32","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/cantruck.ca\/public-health-agency-of-canada-issues-non-medical-mask-policy-for-all-essential-workers-crossing-the-border\/"},"modified":"2025-01-10T16:45:27","modified_gmt":"2025-01-10T16:45:27","slug":"public-health-agency-of-canada-issues-non-medical-mask-policy-for-all-essential-workers-crossing-the-border","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/cantruck.ca\/fr\/public-health-agency-of-canada-issues-non-medical-mask-policy-for-all-essential-workers-crossing-the-border\/","title":{"rendered":"Public Health Agency of Canada Issues Non-Medical Mask Policy for All Essential Workers Crossing the Border"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Canadian Trucking Alliance was informed today by the Canadian Border Services Agency (CBSA) that the Public Health Agency of Canada (PHAC) is directing the agency, effective immediately, to implement a policy requiring all essential workers crossing the border to wear a non-medical mask or face covering and to provide drivers with a mask should they not have one.<\/p>\n<p>In its conversation with CBSA, CTA was told that no drivers will be turned away from entering Canada as a result of this policy and CBSA will be attempting to provide drivers with a mask should they not have one.<br \/>\nThe direction from the Public Health Agency of Canada reads:<\/p>\n<p><em>\u201cIn addition, all travellers arriving in Canada will be required to wear a non-medical mask or face covering to proceed to their final destination where they will isolate or quarantine. They will be provided with a mask if they do not have one.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n<p>To understand what a non-medical mask or face covering is, <a will be working with CBSA and PHAC to specifically define which appropriate face coverings will satisfy the
