\u2018Where are the regulators?\u2019"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Stephen Laskowski, the CEO of the Canadian Trucking Alliance, recently highlighted several fair competitiveness issues at the recent Surface Transportation Summit like carriers who strip trucks of environmental controls, don\u2019t pay their payroll taxes, choose ELDs that can be manipulated, or run their trucks without insurance.<\/p>\n<p>He said he is clearly frustrated by the \u201csmall but growing\u201d segment of the trucking industry that is circumventing a series of regulations to gain a business advantage.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe marketplace is being bastardized,\u201d he said during a panel discussion at the recent. \u201cWhere are the regulators?\u201d<\/p>\n<p>He added that governments are not focusing on the issue and there is \u201ca high level of frustration because, within the supply chain, despite mission statements by many Fortune 500 companies.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAre these companies
