{"id":2675,"date":"2019-08-12T15:53:29","date_gmt":"2019-08-12T15:53:29","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/cantruck.ca\/climate-action-incentive-fund-supporter-toolkit-now-available\/"},"modified":"2025-01-10T16:46:54","modified_gmt":"2025-01-10T16:46:54","slug":"climate-action-incentive-fund-supporter-toolkit-now-available","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/cantruck.ca\/fr\/climate-action-incentive-fund-supporter-toolkit-now-available\/","title":{"rendered":"Climate Action Incentive Fund Supporter Toolkit Now Available"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Environment and Climate Change Canada (ECCC) has provided members access to the Climate Action Incentive Fund (CAIF) Supporter Toolkit, which contains information for companies who are interested in applying for federal funding for projects that reduce energy consumption and GHGs. The Toolkit includes detailed information regarding the program, access to related webinars, and information on completing the application process.<\/p>\n<p>Last month, ECCC announced the opening of the Project Stream of the CAIF program which\u00a0small-and-medium-sized enterprises in Ontario, Saskatchewan, Manitoba, and New Brunswick \u2013 the four provinces where the federal price on pollution applies \u2013 could be eligible to receive up to 25 percent of their costs for energy saving projects.<\/p>\n<p>Funding will range between $20,000 and $250,000.\u00a0Program details can be found on\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.canada.ca\/en\/environment-climate-change\/services\/climate-change\/carbon-pollution-pricing-proceeds-programming\/climate-action-incentive-fund\/small-medium-enterprises-project-stream.html\">ECCC\u2019s website<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Eligible projects include building retrofits, improved industrial processes, cleaner transportation, retrofits, fuel switching, and other projects. Funds will be made available on a first-come, first-serve basis, with the\u00a0application period being open until funding is exhausted or for a maximum of 90 days.\u00a0Under the Climate Action Incentive Fund, small-and-medium-sized businesses are defined as businesses with fewer than 500 employees.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cCTA has continued to state that revenues collected through the federal carbon tax need to be reinvested back into our industry in the form of incentives for carbon reducing projects and technologies,\u201d says Lak Shoan, Director, Policy and Industry Awareness Programs. \u201cAs one of the largest contributors to the revenues collected through the carbon tax, this program is a good start. CTA looks forward to future modifications of the program that will introduce more incentives for technologies like aerodynamics on trailers.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Applicants can consult the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.canada.ca\/en\/environment-climate-change\/services\/climate-change\/carbon-pollution-pricing-proceeds-programming\/climate-action-incentive-fund\/small-medium-enterprises-project-stream\/applicant-guide.html\">applicant guide\u00a0<\/a>to prepare their proposal and submit it through the<em>\u00a0<\/em><a href=\"https:\/\/www.canada.ca\/en\/environment-climate-change\/services\/environmental-funding\/programs\/application-instructions.html\">online application tool<\/a>.
