{"id":2649,"date":"2019-06-28T13:10:21","date_gmt":"2019-06-28T13:10:21","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/cantruck.ca\/cra-presentation-reporting-requirements-for-carbon-tax\/"},"modified":"2025-01-10T16:47:09","modified_gmt":"2025-01-10T16:47:09","slug":"cra-presentation-reporting-requirements-for-carbon-tax","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/cantruck.ca\/fr\/cra-presentation-reporting-requirements-for-carbon-tax\/","title":{"rendered":"CRA Presentation: Reporting Requirements for Carbon Tax"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>On <a href=\"https:\/\/cantruck.ca\/cra-hosting-national-carbon-tax-webinar-for-cta-with-a-focus-on-reporting-requirements\/\">June 19, 2019<\/a> the Canada Revenue Agency (CRA) held a national webinar the federal carbon tax for the Canadian Trucking Alliance (CTA) and the Provincial Associations within the CTA federation. Under the federal system, carriers operating through jurisdictions that do not have a federally-approved\u00a0carbon\u00a0pricing system are required to register and report their fuel usage to the CRA as part of their quarterly returns. The first return is due by July 31, 2019. Carriers may also receive a rebate or be levied a surcharge depending on their calculations in their quarterly report.<\/p>\n<p><u>Carbon Tax Reporting Periods<\/u><\/p>\n<p>A registered road carrier will have the following reporting periods (quarterly) each year:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>January 1 \u2013March 31<\/li>\n<li>April 1 \u00a0\u2013June 30<\/li>\n<li>July 1 \u00a0\u2013September 30<\/li>\n<li>October 1 \u00a0\u2013December 31<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Note:<\/strong> The return and payment deadline is one month after the end of the reporting period.\u00a0Example &#8211;
