For the fourth consecutive year, companies from the trucking industry \u2013 Canadian Trucking Alliance members in particular \u2013 led all organizations in raising money in the fight against prostate cancer and in support of Prostate Cancer Canada\u2019s Plaid for Dad fundraising campaign.<\/p>\n
Altogether, Canadian trucking companies raised over $90,000 for the cause.<\/p>\n
The coveted plaid belt (changed from the previous plaid vests) \u2013 awarded to the campaign\u2019s top workplace fundraiser \u2013 this year will go to Salmo, B.C.\u2019s Sutco Transportation Specialists, which raised more than $30,400. Close behind was Tandet of Oakville, Ont. with over $30,000 raised and last year\u2019s top fundraiser, Winnipeg\u2019s Arnold Bros Transport, kicked in another $24,000. Together they made up three of the top four contributing companies across the country.<\/p>\n
Kriska Transportation, Steed Standard Transport and Canada Cartage were other companies that pitched in, rounding out the top 100 companies to raise funds.<\/p>\n
The trucking industry, whether through the Ontario Trucking Association<\/a>, Canadian Trucking Alliance<\/a>, or individually,\u00a0have finished first in the fundraising contest four out of the five years the campaign began.<\/p>\n Other carriers who have strongly supported the campaign over the years include Rosenau Transport and XTL Transport.<\/p>\n One in seven men \u2013 dads, husbands, brothers, sons and grandfathers \u2013 will be diagnosed with prostate cancer in their lifetime.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":" For the fourth consecutive year, companies from the
