Uber Freight\u00a0shared findings from 145,000 crowd-sourced driver reviews on shipping delays and driver detention time, reports Trucks.com.<\/p>\n

Collectively,\u00a0detention time\u00a0robs U.S. truckers of an estimated $1.1 billion to $1.3 billion in annual income, according to the U.S. Department of Transportation, as wasted minutes eat into allowable hours of service and drivers\u2019 per-mile earnings.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe found that the lower the facility rating, the harder it is to get a carrier to book the load,\u201d said Kate Kaufman, Uber Freight director of account operations. The higher the facility rating, the faster a load is booked, she said.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe are open to sharing our data with the FMCSA.\u201d<\/p>\n

Uber Freight said this new facility ratings feature in the app is designed to help carriers make more informed decisions about which loads to accept while giving shippers greater insight on how they can improve driver satisfaction at their locations.<\/p>\n

The findings point to ways companies shipping freight can improve their businesses to attract truckers. For example, drivers said they favour facilities that allow late-night and early-morning pickups and accept drop-offs during the day. And they like to speedy turnarounds.<\/p>\n
