{"id":2631,"date":"2019-06-04T19:28:56","date_gmt":"2019-06-04T19:28:56","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/cantruck.ca\/report-highly-automated-cvs-wont-top-1-until-2028\/"},"modified":"2025-01-10T16:47:09","modified_gmt":"2025-01-10T16:47:09","slug":"report-highly-automated-cvs-wont-top-1-until-2028","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/cantruck.ca\/fr\/report-highly-automated-cvs-wont-top-1-until-2028\/","title":{"rendered":"Report: Highly Automated CVs Won\u2019t Top 1% until 2028"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span lang=\"EN-US\">Advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS) and automated driving systems (ADS) for commercial vehicles have been gaining market attention for several years, but while growth is expected to accelerate once the technology is fully developed, volumes will remain low over the next decade.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span lang=\"EN-US\">Specifically, highly automated commercial vehicles and autonomous trucks won\u2019t crack 1 percent of the market at least for another nine years. \u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span lang=\"EN-US\">That, according to a new report from<span class=\"apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.navigantresearch.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Navigant Research<\/a><span class=\"apple-converted-space\">\u00a0which <\/span>analyzes the state of the automated medium and heavy-duty commercial vehicle market through 2030.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span lang=\"EN-US\">\u201cAutomated technologies can provide many benefits for the commercial vehicle sector, but challenges such as advancing technological abilities, overreliance on partially automated systems, regulatory environments, and public perception will all need to be managed moving forward,\u201d says William Drier, research analyst at Navigant Research.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span lang=\"EN-US\">According to<span class=\"apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.navigantresearch.com\/reports\/automated-commercial-vehicles\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">the report<\/a>, once challenges are overcome, the most substantial benefit from ADAS is the potential safety increases it can provide through features such as automatic<span class=\"apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span>emergency braking, lane departure warning, and lane keeping assist.
