{"id":2605,"date":"2019-04-26T17:19:22","date_gmt":"2019-04-26T17:19:22","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/cantruck.ca\/fleets-asked-to-feed-atri-trucking-costs-parking-surveys\/"},"modified":"2025-01-10T16:47:19","modified_gmt":"2025-01-10T16:47:19","slug":"fleets-asked-to-feed-atri-trucking-costs-parking-surveys","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/cantruck.ca\/fr\/fleets-asked-to-feed-atri-trucking-costs-parking-surveys\/","title":{"rendered":"Fleets Asked to Feed ATRI Trucking Costs, Parking Surveys"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The American Transportation Research Institute is looking for motor carriers to participate in ATRI\u2019s annual update to its\u00a0<em>Operational Costs of Trucking<\/em>\u00a0report.<\/p>\n<p>The annual analysis provides carriers with a\u00a0benchmarking tool, while government agencies use the real-world data analysis to help them make better-informed transportation infrastructure investment decisions, according to ATRI, of which the Canadian Trucking Alliance is a member of.<\/p>\n<p>Among the for-hire fleet metrics being requested by ATRI are driver pay, fuel costs, insurance premiums, and lease or purchase payments. Carriers are asked to provide full-year 2018 cost per mile and\/or cost per hour data.<\/p>\n<p><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.truckinginfo.com\/314863\/truck-driver-pay-and-fuel-prices-raise-operating-costs-in-atri-report\">Last year&rsquo;s update<\/a><\/strong>\u00a0found that fleet operating costs increased to their highest levels since 2014, driven by rising fuel prices and pay and benefit increases for drivers.<\/p>\n<p>ATRI&rsquo;s data collection form, which protects all confidential information, is available online\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/r20.rs6.net\/tn.jsp?f=0016K0WWzNNA0OIC30WZ0Ju-af-CsdsBz1CbdG7ZZWDWWJHNXWIwcHG1_NOwmnBz8ijR48cOAzyUNIrtFixu191POyPs_FdBTa-gKHUFz6etUEHnQKfOM8jGXa0pemD2dE7mF8qAMUmIwPfmCDYwSstRn2i8mc-YArSXFxUFIVzCJ34IoOb_KlBTQZJklAbeddP2AnZ1BGO5Lg=&amp;c=WgOXaUKd51FnOJtAEm7MOBvr0wStXX3wOwbkZusFZ3kazbOyeIM4cQ==&amp;ch=L8Ran21c5-g8UthL2OAr06J2TFFL1rZ-faZrMgkIkpSuKIqMFcPhlA==\"><strong>here<\/strong><\/a>.\u00a0Participating motor carriers will receive an advance copy of the full report.<\/p>\n<p>ATRI has also launched an online survey to gather driver input on preferences for data formats and delivery mechanisms of truck parking availability information.<\/p>\n<p>The data collection is part of ATRI\u2019s 2019 top priority research topic to standardize truck parking information systems based on driver preferences.<\/p>\n<p>The lack of available truck parking continues to rank as a top industry issue in ATRI\u2019s annual industry survey. It was the number two issue for drivers in 2018, following only the hours-of-service rules.<\/p>\n<p>Drivers can provide confidential input on truck parking information systems by\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/truckingresearch.org\/2019\/04\/09\/truck-driver-input-needed-on-truck-parking-information-systems-2\/\">clicking here<\/a>.
