{"id":2534,"date":"2018-12-11T18:13:13","date_gmt":"2018-12-11T18:13:13","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/cantruck.ca\/fmcsa-working-to-sort-comments-path-forward-on-hos-reform\/"},"modified":"2025-01-10T16:47:40","modified_gmt":"2025-01-10T16:47:40","slug":"fmcsa-working-to-sort-comments-path-forward-on-hos-reform","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/cantruck.ca\/fr\/fmcsa-working-to-sort-comments-path-forward-on-hos-reform\/","title":{"rendered":"FMCSA Working to Sort Comments, Path Forward on HoS Reform"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span lang=\"EN-US\">The<span class=\"apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span>Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration<span class=\"apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span>is currently in the process of sorting through the more than 5,100 comments filed on its advanced notice of proposed rulemaking \u2014 the first phase of a potential review of<span class=\"apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span>hours of service regulations<span class=\"apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span>\u2014 and is deciding whether it will proceed with a proposal to overhaul those regs, says Joe DeLorenzo, FMCSA\u2019s director of enforcement and compliance.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span lang=\"EN-US\">He also said,<span class=\"apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span>as reported by\u00a0<\/span><em><span lang=\"EN-US\">CCJ<\/span><\/em><span lang=\"EN-US\">,<span class=\"apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span>that FMCSA Administrator<span class=\"apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span>Ray Martinez<span class=\"apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span>hopes to move quickly within the regulatory process regarding hours of service reforms.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>The potential reforms FMCSA has sought feedback for centre around: (1) Extending drivers\u2019 daily 14-hour clock by two hours should adverse conditions arise;
