{"id":2525,"date":"2018-11-30T14:00:27","date_gmt":"2018-11-30T14:00:27","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/cantruck.ca\/musk-turning-into-trucking-company-exec\/"},"modified":"2025-01-10T16:47:40","modified_gmt":"2025-01-10T16:47:40","slug":"musk-turning-into-trucking-company-exec","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/cantruck.ca\/fr\/musk-turning-into-trucking-company-exec\/","title":{"rendered":"Musk Turning into Trucking Company Exec?"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>A recent tweet by Tesla CEO Elon Musk seems to indicate the electric vehicle manufacturer could soon be hauling its own cars across North America.<\/p>\n<p>Citing pressures to get products to customers as quickly, efficiently and cost effectively as possible \u2013\u00a0the business model retail giants like Amazon are built around \u2013 Tesla CEO Elon Musk has reportedly purchased several car-hauling fleets in order to better move his newly built electric cars to the East coast.<\/p>\n<p>Describing what he has called Tesla\u2019s \u201cdelivery logistics hell,\u201d Musk, who recently announced Tesla\u2019s foray into building electric and partly autonomous tractor-trailers, says he\u2019s forgoing the railroads to get his company\u2019s car to market, citing trucking\u2019s much faster delivery times.<\/p>\n<p>As reported by reports Truckinginfo.com, the issue first arose in September, when Musk posted several tweets outlining Tesla\u2019s problems in moving product coast-to-coast. Not surprisingly, word soon came that the company was also building its own car carriers \u2013 although it\u2019s not clear if they company was yet using its all-electric Semi tractor in that project.<\/p>\n<p>The move underscores a couple of key points, states Truckinginfo:\u00a0First, trucking is vastly important to the success of companies today and absolutely cannot be the weak link in the supply chain.
