{"id":2506,"date":"2018-10-12T15:17:13","date_gmt":"2018-10-12T15:17:13","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/cantruck.ca\/cta-provides-update-on-legal-memo-regarding-cannabis-and-crossing-the-border\/"},"modified":"2025-01-10T16:47:41","modified_gmt":"2025-01-10T16:47:41","slug":"cta-provides-update-on-legal-memo-regarding-cannabis-and-crossing-the-border","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/cantruck.ca\/fr\/cta-provides-update-on-legal-memo-regarding-cannabis-and-crossing-the-border\/","title":{"rendered":"CTA Provides Update on Legal Memo Regarding Cannabis and Crossing the Border"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Earlier this week, <a href=\"https:\/\/cantruck.ca\/cta-conducts-impact-analysis-on-association-with-cannabis\/\">CTA distributed a legal<\/a> memo to members regarding the potential impact of cannabis legalization on Canadian trucking companies, which included scenarios related to admissibility, and potential guilt by association for companies involved in the domestic cannabis economy.<\/p>\n<p>U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) recently issued some clarification regarding Canada\u2019s legalization of cannabis and crossing the border, which attempts to clarify their position on the admissibility of Canadian citizens working in or facilitating the legal cannabis industry in Canada.<\/p>\n<p>Based on these recent comments, CTA has updated its legal memo to account for CBP\u2019s recent statements on cannabis legalization, and the potential impact it could have on Canadian trucking companies.<\/p>\n<p>A copy of the updated memo will be made available to CTA members upon request.
