The Canadian Trucking Alliance (CTA) reiterates its condolences to the families and friends who lost their loved ones in the tragic Humboldt collision. Today the RCMP pressed 29 criminal charges of \u201cdangerous operation of a motor vehicle\u201d against the commercial truck driver involved in the collision.<\/p>\n
Currently, the facts of the case which have lead the RCMP to make these charges are unknown to CTA. Once these facts are made available, the Alliance will pursue opportunities with the provinces and the federal government to make improvements to the commercial vehicle safety compliance system. CTA and its provincial trucking association members continue our commitment to working with all levels of government to enhance trucking safety on roads and highways across the country.<\/p>\n
Not contained in today\u2019s announcement, but of interest to CTA, is learning from the enforcement community and regulators the results of the investigation into the trucking company that employed the driver who was charged with the 29 counts of dangerous operation of a motor vehicle.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
