{"id":2443,"date":"2018-06-25T19:14:31","date_gmt":"2018-06-25T19:14:31","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/cantruck.ca\/hos-violations-down-significantly-since-dec-rollout-fmcsa\/"},"modified":"2025-01-10T16:48:14","modified_gmt":"2025-01-10T16:48:14","slug":"hos-violations-down-significantly-since-dec-rollout-fmcsa","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/cantruck.ca\/fr\/hos-violations-down-significantly-since-dec-rollout-fmcsa\/","title":{"rendered":"HOS Violations Down Significantly Since Dec Rollout: FMCSA"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span lang=\"EN-US\">Hours of Service (HoS) violations are down in the United States since electronic logging devices (ELDs) took effect in Decemeber, says the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA).<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span lang=\"EN-US\">FMCSA reports a clear decrease in violations between Dec 18, 2017 and April 1, 2018 of just 0.85 % of drivers, compared to 1.19% before the Dec. 18 rollout of mandatory ELDs. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span lang=\"EN-US\">After the end of the April 1 soft enforcement period (which non-compliant drivers received violation warnings but not fines) HoS violations dropped again to just 0.64% of drivers in May 2018. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span lang=\"EN-US\">FMCSA numbers say that amounts to just under 2,000 violations compared with just under 4,000 for the same month last year.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span lang=\"EN-US\">FMCSA released an infographic illustrating the improvements<span class=\"apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.fmcsa.dot.gov\/regulations\/enforcement\/electronic-logging-device-information-graphic\">here<\/a>.<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Hours of Service (HoS) violations are down in the United States since electronic logging devices (ELDs) took effect in Decemeber, says the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA).
