On March 1, she will share both personal and professional insights \u2013 from her cancer journey to HR business issues of the day.\u00a0 A known champion for the <em>Women with Drive<\/em> initiative, her perspective on the issue is sure to inspire all delegates attending what she calls her \u201cfavourite industry event of the year.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe are thrilled that Angela is getting better, and able to join us,\u201d says Mike McCarron, Chair of Trucking HR Canada\u2019s Board of Directors. \u201cThe Women with Drive Leadership Summit has emerged as a go-to-event for anyone in the industry looking to learn more about the recruitment and retention of women.\u00a0 The topics covered come at a time when the competition for top talent is a priority business concern for many fleets.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Splinter will open a day that features three dynamic panels, including male and female leaders from successful fleets across Canada sharing recruitment and retention approaches; top female trucking and logistics entrepreneurs; and, a panel of senior leaders from LinkedIn, Monster Canada and Workopolis sharing observations on how our industry is perceived and how we can better recruit top talent across multiple platforms.\u00a0 The luncheon keynote features a conversation on workplace inclusion from Catalyst Canada, and the day wraps up with one of Canada\u2019s leading viticulturalists, talking about her rise through what was once a very male dominated industry, before leading delegates through an exclusive wine tasting.<\/p>\n<p>Women comprise 48% of the Canadian workforce, yet only 3% of women are truck drivers and 11% of transportation managerial staff.\u00a0 Women with Drive is a national initiative of Trucking HR Canada that brings awareness to the issue, and identifies practical approaches for employers.<\/p>\n<p>Spots are still available.\u00a0 To register and\/or learn more, visit: <a href=\"https:\/\/truckinghr.com\/content\/2018-women-drive-leadership-summit\">https:\/\/truckinghr.com\/content\/2018-women-drive-leadership-summit<\/a>.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Trucking HR Canada announced that its CEO, Angela Splinter, will bring opening remarks at the fourth annual Women with Drive summit on March 1, 2018, in Toronto.
