{"id":2225,"date":"2017-07-27T15:23:38","date_gmt":"2017-07-27T15:23:38","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/cantruck.ca\/truck-speed-limiter-rule-stalls-in-trumps-washington\/"},"modified":"2025-01-10T16:49:04","modified_gmt":"2025-01-10T16:49:04","slug":"truck-speed-limiter-rule-stalls-in-trumps-washington","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/cantruck.ca\/fr\/truck-speed-limiter-rule-stalls-in-trumps-washington\/","title":{"rendered":"US Truck Speed-Limiter Rule Stalls"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The drive to mandate speed-limiters on trucks in the U.S. has sputtered out as the Trump Administration&rsquo;s continues to push to cut federal regulations.<\/p>\n<p>The revised <a href=\"https:\/\/www.reginfo.gov\/public\/do\/eAgendaMain?operation=OPERATION_GET_AGENCY_RULE_LIST&amp;currentPub=true&amp;agencyCode=&amp;showStage=active&amp;agencyCd=2100&amp;Image58.x=34&amp;Image58.y=21&amp;Image58=Submit\">\u201cunified agenda,\u201d<\/a> published on July 20 by the Office of Management and Budget, reveals that a speed-limiter rule has fallen off the near-term agendas for both the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration and the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, reports Heavy Duty Trucking.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cBy amending and eliminating regulations that are ineffective, duplicative, and obsolete, the administration can promote economic growth and innovation and protect individual liberty,\u00a0\u00bb the White House Office of Management and Budget said in a statement upon posting the updated agenda.<\/p>\n<p>Last year, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration and FMCSA jointly proposed a rule that would require heavy-duty vehicles to be equipped with speed-limiting devices.<\/p>\n<p>However, no actual speed limit was proposed for the devices.
