{"id":2206,"date":"2017-06-30T15:16:35","date_gmt":"2017-06-30T15:16:35","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/cantruck.ca\/cta-ota-promote-new-policy-team\/"},"modified":"2025-01-10T16:49:11","modified_gmt":"2025-01-10T16:49:11","slug":"cta-ota-promote-new-policy-team","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/cantruck.ca\/fr\/cta-ota-promote-new-policy-team\/","title":{"rendered":"CTA &#038; OTA Promote New Policy Team"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Canadian Trucking Alliance and the Ontario Trucking Association are announcing three key policy staff \u2013 Geoffrey Wood, Jonathan Blackham and Lak Shoan \u2013 have been promoted, effective July 1.<\/p>\n<p>Geoffrey Wood will become Senior VP, Policy for both CTA and OTA. Geoffrey is a 14-year employee of OTA, the last nine serving as VP, Operations and Safety. He served the same role for CTA during that time. Geoffrey previously worked in the industry as a warehouseman, a truck driver and in operations management. He holds a Master\u2019s degree from the University of Waterloo in Geography.<\/p>\n<p>Jonathan Blackham will become director, Policy and Public Affairs.\u00a0Jonathan joined OTA and CTA soon after university in 2013 as Policy and Gov\u2019t Affairs Assistant. He worked on a number files related to taxation, trade, environment and labour. Before joining the organizations, Jon worked for the Waterloo based Security Governance Group as a researcher on security sector reform. He holds an Honours BA in Political Science and Communications from Wilfrid Laurier University and a Masters of Public Policy degree from the Hertie School of Governance in Berlin, Germany.<\/p>\n<p>Lak Shoan will be director, Policy and Industry Awareness Programs. Lak has been with the associations for about three years where he has worked on several key files related to the border, as well as overseeing the Next Generation and Road Knights programs. He holds an Honours BA in Political Science from McMaster University, and has completed post-graduate studies in both Public Administration and International Business, specializing in International Trade Finance and Logistics.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cSuccessful organizations are made up of good people who are committed to excellence.
