{"id":2196,"date":"2017-06-14T18:28:42","date_gmt":"2017-06-14T18:28:42","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/cantruck.ca\/cvsa-issues-bulletin-on-securing-intermodal-containers\/"},"modified":"2025-01-10T16:49:12","modified_gmt":"2025-01-10T16:49:12","slug":"cvsa-issues-bulletin-on-securing-intermodal-containers","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/cantruck.ca\/fr\/cvsa-issues-bulletin-on-securing-intermodal-containers\/","title":{"rendered":"CVSA Issues Bulletin on Securing Intermodal Containers"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The <a href=\"http:\/\/cvsa.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Commercial Vehicle Safety Administration<\/a> (CVSA) has posted details of its latest inspection bulletin on securing intermodal containers on chassis vehicles.<\/p>\n<p>CVSA\u2019s board of directors approved the new bulletin and updated four others during its<a href=\"http:\/\/cvsa.org\/news-entry\/7147\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"> recent workshop in Atlanta<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The group said containers are usually secured to the chassis with twist-locks or pin-locks meeting the definition\u00a0of an integral locking device. <iframe class=\"teads-resize\" style=\"min-height: 0px !important; display: block; height: 0px; width: 100%; border-width: medium; border-style: none; padding: 0px; margin: 0px;\" width=\"300\" height=\"150\" data-mce-fragment=\"1\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>These devices must \u201cengage in such a way that they cannot unintentionally become unfastened while the vehicle is in transit,\u201d CVSA said.<\/p>\n<p>CVSA noted there are numerous twist-lock and pin-lock designs that can be used to ensure the container is properly restrained.<\/p>\n<p>Integral locking devices must lock and be secured so they do not become unintentionally unfastened.
