{"id":2191,"date":"2017-06-12T18:32:56","date_gmt":"2017-06-12T18:32:56","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/cantruck.ca\/us-supreme-court-declines-to-hear-lawsuit-against-elds\/"},"modified":"2025-01-10T16:49:12","modified_gmt":"2025-01-10T16:49:12","slug":"us-supreme-court-declines-to-hear-lawsuit-against-elds","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/cantruck.ca\/fr\/us-supreme-court-declines-to-hear-lawsuit-against-elds\/","title":{"rendered":"US Supreme Court Declines to Hear Lawsuit Against ELDs"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"wp-caption-text\">The US Supreme Court will not hear OOIDA\u2019s lawsuit against the DOT\u2019s ELD mandate, effectively ending the court bid to overturn the impeding regulation.<\/p>\n<p>The Supreme Court\u2019s June 12 decision leaves in place a lower court ruling upholding the mandate and its Dec. 18 compliance deadline.<\/p>\n<p>The Owner-Operator Independent Drivers Association, which spearheaded the lawsuit, says it will continue to press the issue in Congress.<\/p>\n<p>The American Trucking Associations welcomed the Court\u2019s decision.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe are pleased to see that the Supreme Court will not interfere with the implementation of this important, and Congressionally mandated, safety rule.
