{"id":1995,"date":"2016-08-24T18:14:35","date_gmt":"2016-08-24T18:14:35","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/cantruck.ca\/bc-announces-border-corridor-improvements-to-hwy-13\/"},"modified":"2025-01-10T16:50:05","modified_gmt":"2025-01-10T16:50:05","slug":"bc-announces-border-corridor-improvements-to-hwy-13","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/cantruck.ca\/fr\/bc-announces-border-corridor-improvements-to-hwy-13\/","title":{"rendered":"BC Announces Border Corridor Improvements to Hwy. 13"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The B.C. provincial government recently announced a $25.5 million project to widen Hwy. 13 to support border enhancements at the Aldergrove\/Lynden crossing.<\/p>\n<p>The upgrades will include widening Hwy. 13 southbound from one to three lanes to accommodate a separate Nexus and truck lane, as well as adding a northbound truck-climbing lane. A new two-lane east-west connection will also be added at 3B Ave., extending from Hwy. 13 to 264th Street.<\/p>\n<p>The upgrades are expected to shrink wait and idle times at the border and reduce general congestion along the corridor.<\/p>\n<p>Construction is expected to begin in the spring of 2017.<\/p>\n<p>BCTA said in\u00a0 news release it supports the move and remains hopeful there will be some additional expansion of Hwy. 13 between 8th Ave. and the Trans-Canada.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The B.C. provincial government recently announced a $25.5 million project to widen Hwy. 13 to support border enhancements at the Aldergrove\/Lynden crossing.
