{"id":1992,"date":"2016-08-23T17:18:07","date_gmt":"2016-08-23T17:18:07","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/cantruck.ca\/annual-brake-inspection-program-set-for-next-month\/"},"modified":"2025-01-10T16:50:05","modified_gmt":"2025-01-10T16:50:05","slug":"annual-brake-inspection-program-set-for-next-month","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/cantruck.ca\/fr\/annual-brake-inspection-program-set-for-next-month\/","title":{"rendered":"Annual Brake Inspection Program Set for Next Month"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Commercial Vehicle Safety Alliance\u2019s Brake Safety Week will take place Sept. 11-17.<\/p>\n<p>Law enforcement agencies will conduct inspections on commercial vehicles across North America to look for out-of-adjustment brakes, and brake system and anti-lock braking system violations.<\/p>\n<p>Specifically, CVSA says inspectors will be looking for \u201cloose or missing parts, air or hydraulic fluid leaks, worn linings, pads, drums or rotors, and other faulty brake system components.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Inspectors will also be checking ABS malfunction indicator lights to make sure they\u2019re in working order, CVSA says. Defective or out-of-adjustment brakes will result in the vehicle being placed out-of-service.<\/p>\n<p>Most inspections occurring during the week will be full Level I inspections, according to CVSA, and 10 jurisdictions will be using performance-based brake testing to measure braking efficiency.<\/p>\n<p>Brake Safety Week is part of <a href=\"http:\/\/cvsa.org\/program\/programs\/operation-airbrake-brake-safety-week\/\">CVSA\u2019s Operation Airbrake program<\/a>.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Commercial Vehicle Safety Alliance\u2019s Brake Safety Week will take place Sept. 11-17.
