Mac Clean-Up Support"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>With the announcement that many residents of Fort Mac will begin returning to their homes on June 1,\u00a0 Trucks For Change is reaching out to the trucking industry to assist in the next stage in the recovery.<\/p>\n<p>To support returning evacuees, Red Cross and other relief agencies will be providing tools and supplies to help affected residents clean their homes which have been heavily affected by smoke and fire.\u00a0\u00a0These\u00a0cleanup kits include\u00a0mops, brooms, sponges, cleaning liquids, pails, gloves, masks and other essentials required to wash a home from floor to ceiling. \u00a0Trucks For Change is currently coordinating requests\u00a0to transport \u00a0truckload and LTL shipments of cleanup kits from points in Ontario and elsewhere to the Fort Mac\/Edmonton area.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><a href=\"http:\/\/ontruck.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/05\/TrucksForChange.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-6858 alignright\" src=\"http:\/\/ontruck.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/05\/TrucksForChange-300x182.jpg\" alt=\"TrucksForChange\" width=\"300\" Red Cross (<a href=\"http:\/\/www.redcross.ca\">www.redcross.ca<\/a>) and Global Medic (<a href=\"http:\/\/www.globalmedic.ca\">www.globalmedic.ca<\/a>) \u00a0to move initial response materials such as cots, blankets, and water into the Fort McMurray region to assist with the evacuee activities.\u00a0\u00a0Much of the carriers\u2019 freight transportation has been donated free of charge\u00a0or offered at cost to assist response efforts. \u00a0In addition, many have made financial donations to Canadian Red Cross, amounts which are being matched by the federal
