{"id":1890,"date":"2016-02-09T21:07:53","date_gmt":"2016-02-09T21:07:53","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/cantruck.ca\/ccmta-releases-10-year-transportation-safety-strategy\/"},"modified":"2025-01-10T16:51:20","modified_gmt":"2025-01-10T16:51:20","slug":"ccmta-releases-10-year-transportation-safety-strategy","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/cantruck.ca\/fr\/ccmta-releases-10-year-transportation-safety-strategy\/","title":{"rendered":"CCMTA Releases 10-Year Transportation Safety Strategy"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Canada\u2019s leading transport officials released their latest long-term vision to improve safety on Canada\u2019s highways and reduce traffic fatalities.<\/p>\n<p>The <a href=\"http:\/\/crss-2025.ccmta.ca\/files\/RSS-2025-Report-January-2016-with%20cover.pdf\">Road Safety Strategy (RSS) 2025<\/a>\u00a0 is \u201caligned with international best practices in road safety\u201d and aims to help \u201cmake Canada\u2019s roads the safest in the world,\u201d says the Canadian Council of Motor Transport Administrators (CCMTA) in a statement.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/crss-2025.ccmta.ca\/files\/RSS-2025-Report-January-2016-with%20cover.pdf\">RSS 2025<\/a>\u00a0builds on the work of <a href=\"http:\/\/crss-2015.ccmta.ca\/\">Road Safety Strategy 2015<\/a>\u00a0with a flexible approach to allow for jurisdictions to implement road safety programs that meet their own needs. It\u00a0encourages road safety stakeholders from all levels of government as well as private sector and non-governmental stakeholders to collaborate and unite efforts.<\/p>\n<p>The following strategic objectives form the cornerstone of the Strategy and focus on safer road users, road infrastructure and vehicles:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Raising public awareness and commitment to road safety<\/li>\n<li>Improving communication, cooperation and collaboration among stakeholders<\/li>\n<li>Enhancing legislation and enforcement<\/li>\n<li>Improving road safety information in support of research and evaluation<\/li>\n<li>Improving the\u00a0 safety of vehicles and road infrastructure<\/li>\n<li>Leveraging technology and innovation<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>For the full report <a href=\"http:\/\/crss-2025.ccmta.ca\/files\/RSS-2025-Report-January-2016-with%20cover.pdf\">click here<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>CTA and the provincial associations will continue to work with federal and provincial transportation officials on several commercial transport-related initiatives in the coming years.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Canada\u2019s leading transport officials released their latest long-term vision to improve safety on Canada\u2019s highways and reduce traffic fatalities.
