{"id":1856,"date":"2015-12-07T20:20:00","date_gmt":"2015-12-07T20:20:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/cantruck.ca\/fmcsa-removes-csa-data-from-public-view\/"},"modified":"2025-01-10T16:51:21","modified_gmt":"2025-01-10T16:51:21","slug":"fmcsa-removes-csa-data-from-public-view","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/cantruck.ca\/fr\/fmcsa-removes-csa-data-from-public-view\/","title":{"rendered":"FMCSA Removes CSA Data from Public View"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration has announced that as of Dec. 4 \u201cmuch of the information previously available on the FMCSA website related to property carrier\u2019s compliance and safety performance will no longer be displayed publicly.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The action is reportedly in response to <a href=\"http:\/\/ontruck.org\/ata-pleased-with-us-highway-bill-driver-coercion-rule-published\/\">Congress passing<\/a> the Fixing America\u2019s Surface Transportation (FAST) Act highway bill on Dec. 3. Among other things, the bill takes steps to reform the its Compliance, Safety, Accountability (CSA) safety monitoring system \u2013 something industry groups like the American Trucking Associations have been pressing for years.<\/p>\n<p>FMCSA stated that while it is not prohibited from displaying all of the data from program, no information will be available \u201cwhile appropriate changes are made.\u201d This includes information provided to the public through the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.fmcsa.dot.gov\/safety\/research-and-analysis\/qcmobile-app\">QCMobile<\/a> app.<\/p>\n<p>The agency added that it is \u201cworking to return the website and app to operation as quickly as possible.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u00ab\u00a0Following reviews by the GAO, the Department of Transportation Inspector General and various law enforcement organizations, the Act requires that FMCSA analysis of enforcement data be temporarily removed from public websites on the day after enactment, until the agency has completed reforms required by this Act.
