Prime Minister Justin Trudeau today appointed his first cabinet and the new Minister of Transport will be Marc Garneau, who is well-known to Canadians as this country\u2019s first man in space.
\nIn addition to being an astronaut he was an officer in the Canadian Navy and an engineer. He has served as the Member of Parliament for the riding of Westmount-Ville-Marie since 2008. In opposition he served as Liberal critic for Industry, Science and Technology, Foreign Affairs and International Trade and Natural Resources. His is a Companion of the Order of Canada.
