{"id":1784,"date":"2015-07-28T20:31:41","date_gmt":"2015-07-28T20:31:41","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/cantruck.ca\/trailer-demand-defies-normal-expectations\/"},"modified":"2025-01-10T16:51:38","modified_gmt":"2025-01-10T16:51:38","slug":"trailer-demand-defies-normal-expectations","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/cantruck.ca\/fr\/trailer-demand-defies-normal-expectations\/","title":{"rendered":"Trailer Demand \u2018Defies Normal Expectations\u2019"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>North American net orders of trailers in June were up a whopping 73% compared the previous month \u2013 defying normal expectations, says ACT Research.<\/p>\n<p>June\u2019s order intake came in at 27,900 units.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAlthough not the strongest June on record (that was the 32,000 volume of June 1994), the June 2015 order surge is exceptionally early, with strength coming from dry vans and reefers,\u201d said Frank Maly, director, CV transportation analysis and research at ACT.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe lack of cancellations, along with early 2016 commitments, indicates strong fleet confidence in the short to medium term outlook.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Maly noted that ACT Research\u2019s outlook continues to be positive, although vocational trailers continue to endure energy sector headwinds.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhile there has been some softening in freight rates, lower fuel costs have helped offset those shifts and fleets\u2019 bottom lines continue to be firm,\u201d Maly said. \u201cOur view that 2015 will be the best trailer market since the late 1990s remains unchanged.\u201d<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>North American net orders of trailers in June were up a whopping 73% compared the previous month \u2013 defying normal expectations, says ACT Research.
