{"id":1783,"date":"2015-07-28T20:24:35","date_gmt":"2015-07-28T20:24:35","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/cantruck.ca\/long-term-freight-outlook-rosy\/"},"modified":"2025-01-10T16:51:38","modified_gmt":"2025-01-10T16:51:38","slug":"long-term-freight-outlook-rosy","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/cantruck.ca\/fr\/long-term-freight-outlook-rosy\/","title":{"rendered":"Long-term Freight Outlook Rosy"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The long-term outlook for trucking in the US is bright with freight volumes projected to increase nearly 29% over the next 11 years, according to the American Trucking Associations, titled <em>US <a href=\"http:\/\/www.atabusinesssolutions.com\/\">Freight Transportation Forecast to 2026<\/a>.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe outlook for all modes of freight transportation remains bright,\u201d said\u00a0ATA chief economist Bob Costello. \u201cContinued population growth, expansion of the energy sector and foreign trade will boost trucking, intermodal rail and pipeline shipments in particular.\u201d<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><a href=\"http:\/\/ontruck.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/06\/truck-dollarsign.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-3090 alignright\" src=\"http:\/\/ontruck.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/06\/truck-dollarsign.jpg\" alt=\"truck-dollarsign\" width=\"210\" height=\"187\" \/><\/a>\u201cForecast\u00a0is a valuable resource for executives and decision makers in both the private and public sector,\u201d\u00a0ATA president and CEO Bill Graves\u00a0said. \u201cKnowing where the industry and economy is headed can help shippers and fleets make key business decisions and instruct lawmakers and regulators on the best policies to move our economy forward.\u201d<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Other highlights from the report:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>trucking will still be the dominant mode of freight transportation, although the share of tonnage it hauls dips slightly.<\/li>\n<li>Due to tremendous growth in energy production in the US, pipelines will benefit more than other modes.
