CTA Provides Transport Minister with Cross-Canada Trucking-Trade Priority Infrastructure Wish List

The Canadian Trucking Alliance has reached out to its provincial associations across Canada to gather input on building stronger, more efficient trade corridors. CTA used the feedback to create a trade-trade priority wish list which was released today.

In early July, Transport Minister Marc Garneau announced a $2.1 billion for the Trade and Transportation Corridors Initiative (TTCI), based on the merit-based National Trade Corridors Fund (NTCF), which provides $2 billion over 11 years to strengthen Canada’s trade infrastructure, including ports, waterways, airports, roads, bridges, border crossings, rail networks and the interconnectivity between them.

CTA and its provincial trucking associations used the opportunity to create a list of projects that meets these criteria. Click here to view these recommendations in detail: TTCI Submission 2017_public

“While not exhaustive, the list represents specific projects and general areas for consideration. In each case, funding for road-based infrastructure would significantly improve the trucking industry’s ability to carry the nation’s domestic and international trade,” said CTA President Stephen Laskowski.

Below is a list of CTA Association Regional Vice Presidents. Media interested in speaking about specific projects should contact the corresponding provincial association listed below where that project is located:
